NIB Invest In Wind Energy
The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Swedish Gabrielsberget Syd Vind AB, have signed a contract for the construction of a new wind farm in Västerbotten in northern Sweden.
The 16.5 year contract totaled € 35 million for the financing and construction the new wind farm, and has a total capacity of 46 MW.
The wind farm will consist of 20 wind turbines and the commercial operation of the farm is planned to be running by July 2011.
NIB President and CEO, Johnny Åkerholm commented in the press release: "Replacing fossil fuel based energy production with renewable energy sources such as wind helps reduce CO2 emissions. It is NIB's mission to enhance the environment by lending to projects such as this wind farm."
NIB Finances Renewable Raw Material
The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Finnish Neste Oil Corporation have signed a loan contract for financing Neste Oil's investments into R&D projects aimed at finding new sustainable raw material alternatives for renewable diesel production. The loan totaled €50 million, and its providing Neste Oil with the resources to explore renewable diesel production.

NIB signs loan with Skanska for greener buildings in Sweden and Finland

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Sweden's Skanska Financial Services AB have signed a contract for the financing of an environmentally- and energy-efficient construction of office buildings.
The 7 year loan contract will be used for the development of more energy efficient buildings.
President and CEO of NIB, commented in the press release: "With this environmental loan, NIB is helping Skanska in developing economically attractive green solutions for its customers, while strengthening a major Nordic construction company's competitiveness as a green builder."

Wind energy is renewable. As one of Mother Nature’s gifts, the wind is available and plentiful and won’t deplete our world’s natural resources. We should then take advantage of this fact and maximize the use of this energy.
